Paulene Mackell is an experienced social worker with a multidisciplinary academic background and an Honorary Fellow at NARI. She has experience of working in hospitals, aged care assessment teams and in geographically remote locations. This includes forming a collaboration that explored how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled art centres keep their Elders, and people living with dementia, strong and connected. Paulene is committed to undertaking participatory research methodologies that engage with local knowledge making processes and promote health and ageing, intergenerational connection, and sustainable communities. She is currently undertaking her PhD through the School of Design at RMIT University.
