Nina Bowes is a senior strategy and innovation leader specialising in enterprise strategy, governance, research and reform. She has over a decade of experience operating at enterprise level, designing strategy, governance systems and implementation frameworks that enable complex organisational change.

Nina brings extensive experience across aged care, health and policy environments. As Director of Strategy and Innovation at Uniting AgeWell, she established the organisation’s Research and Innovation function and led the development of multiple strategies and frameworks, including dementia, environmental sustainability and home care. She oversaw a significant portfolio of research partnerships and externally funded projects, and played a key role in shaping organisational performance and strategic delivery.

She brings strong expertise in policy development, sector engagement and reform delivery at scale, with experience spanning roles at the National Aged Care Alliance Secretariat, the Council on the Ageing (COTA) Australia and the Victorian Healthcare Association. She has contributed to national research partnerships, sector frameworks and reform initiatives.

Dr Tiina Vaittinen

Dr Tiina Vaittinen is a generalist social scientist specialising in care ethics and global political economies of care based in Tampere University, Finland. She holds a BscEcon and MA in International Relations and PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies, and works across disciplinary boundaries.
Dr Alyson Sweeney

Dr Alyson Sweeney is a Registered Nurse who has specialised in the management of incontinence and care for people with urinary catheters. She is working with NARI as a chief investigator on a MRFF-funded project that aims to improve catheter care in residential aged care homes in Australia.
Associate Professor Lucio Naccarella

A/Prof Lucio Naccarella is a leading health systems researcher, evaluator and implementation science educator, with interests in systems change, health system literacy, aged care workforce, care coordination, multidisciplinary primary health care team work, primary care organisations and health workforce reforms, from a policy, research and practice perspective.
Associate Professor Paul Andrew Yates

A/Prof Paul Yates is a geriatrician with Austin Health, Deputy Director of Aged Care Research and Medical Lead for the Residential InReach Program. His clinical and research interests include care of older people at the interface between hospital and community, including residential aged care, and novel approaches to improve outcomes in ageing and dementia.
Alfred Deakin Professor Alison Hutchinson

Professor Alison Hutchinson is the Chair in Nursing at Barwon Health, a Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Deakin University, and Co-Director of the Centre for Quality and Patient Safety Research (QPS) in the Institute for Health Transformation at Deakin University.
Associate Professor Catherine Said

Associate Professor Said is the inaugural Associate Professor Physiotherapy, Western Health and The University of Melbourne, and a program director with the Australian Institute of Musculoskeletal Science. Her research focuses on fall prevention and rehabilitation of older people and people with neurological disorders.
Professor Lee-Fay Low

Lee-Fay is an Honorary Fellow at NARI and Professor in Ageing and Health at the University of Sydney. She is a psychologist who conducts research into dementia, healthy ageing and aged care, with a particular interest in working with diverse communities.
Professor Sigrid Nakrem

Professor Sigrid Nakrem is an academic at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She holds a MSc in health sciences and a PhD in public health. Her main research topics are patient safety and quality of care, elder abuse, and eHealth, and has teaching competence in related areas.
Associate Professor Samantha Loi

Associate Professor Samantha Loi is an old age psychiatrist and neuropsychiatrist working at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Neuropsychiatry Centre and Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne. Her research interests include ageing, mental health and cognition in middle aged and older adults.
