The seminars commenced with a presentation on Health Economics from Professor Philip Clarke from the University of Melbourne, followed by a presentation on translational research from Simon Deeming from the Hunter Medical Research Institute. Both presenters shared their insights into the importance of including health economic measures in research from the outset, and essential considerations in relation to designing research projects to ensure that outputs and outcomes are planned for and systematically measured to maximise research gains. Attendees gained a practical understanding of how health economics can be incorporated into their research and translated into their clinical practice.
