Senior Research Fellow

Dr Marina Cavuoto is a Clinical Neuropsychologist specialising in cognition in healthy ageing, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia. She is a Senior Research Fellow at NARI. Her research interests include risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia, including social determinants of health, sleep, and gene-sleep interactions; understanding social, cultural and psychological factors that impact on cognitive assessment in older people; and elder abuse prevention.

Dr Cavuoto manages the MINDSET study: Improving Interpreting For Dementia Assessments, and the No More Shame study, which aims to address the recognition, response, and referral of elder abuse by health providers. She also holds an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow position at the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health, Monash University.
