The National Ageing Research Institute presents

Annual Summit 2023 - Menopause and Beyond: Promoting Older Women's Health and Well-Being

Sponsored by Jean Hailes for Women’s Health

Friday 15th September, 9am-4pm AEST (Registration Opens 8.30am)

This Summit will focus on health issues faced by women as they progress through menopause and beyond and how age and gender intersect with other social determinants to impact older women’s health and wellbeing.

We will focus on how older women can be empowered to manage their health into older age. Older women leaders will show us how they are driving their own initiatives that engender respect and inclusion for themselves and others.

Keynote Speaker

 Professor Susan Davis AO

Our Keynote Speaker, Professor Susan Davis AO, is a Clinician Researcher and is the Head of the Monash University Women’s Health Research Program and Head of the Alfred Hospital Women’s Endocrine Clinic. Susan is also one of the five founders of Jean Hailes for Women and is a past President of the Australasian Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society. Susan will be presenting “Menopause, not a flash in the pan but the gate way to healthy ageing”.

Also joining us is Kat Theophanous MP, who will be opening our morning session. Kat is Parliamentary Secretary for Women’s Health and Member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Northcote. The Hon Ged Kearney MP, Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, will be providing a video welcome.

In addition to the above, The NARI Annual Summit 2023 will feature expert speakers discussing important issues facing Older Women. These will have a specific focus on Menopause, Physical and Mental Health, and Intersectionality.
