Get to know us Our people Dr Katrin Gerber PhD (Psych), MSci (Psych) eqiv., BSci (Psych) eqiv. Honorary Fellow Dr Katrin Gerber is a NARI Honorary Fellow. She is an end-of-life researcher with a PhD in Psychology from the University of Melbourne. Since coming to Australia as an international scholarship recipient in 2012, Dr Gerber has taught and researched topics related to ageing, end-of-life care and mental health at the University of Melbourne, the University of Tasmania and Queensland University of Technology. She is an RMIT Research Fellow with the School of Media and Communication, as well as an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne. In acknowledgement of her work in palliative care, end-of-life decision-making, bereavement support and mental health, she was nominated for a National Palliative Care Award as an emerging researcher in 2019. Her passion for end-of-life research stems from her work as a hospice volunteer and her personal experience as a family caregiver.
