Community health organisations are major providers of community support and care for older people and are important sector in the continuum of services for older people. We also highlight the 2022 Tasmanian Palliative Care Conference where two of our researchers, Dr Katrin Gerber and Dr Lidia Engel were invited to present a keynote address titled The forgotten mourners – Effects of bereavement on older people’s quality of life. Their talk presented findings from a recently mixed-methods study examining the effects of bereavement on older people’s health, wellbeing and professional help-seeking.
