About the presenter

Dr Terence Chong is Senior Lecturer in Old Age Psychiatry - a joint appointment of The University of Melbourne Department of Psychiatry Wellbeing in Ageing Team and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. He is also a PhD candidate. His research interests include cognitive health and dementia prevention, intervention and care, anxiety, physical activity and the use of technology to facilitate interventions. He holds appointments as Consultant Psychiatrist in the St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, Epworth Healthcare and Medical and Mind Weight Loss.  He is also on the Board of Directors of the International Psychogeriatric Association and is currently Treasurer.

About the seminar

Anxiety disorders are the most prevalent type of mental health conditions and cause significant distress and disability, yet they are relatively neglected in research.  This seminar featured a presentation on anxiety in older people and treatments for anxiety, including the potential use of exercise interventions.
