About the presentation

Music Therapy has long history of practice in dementia care in Australia, but until recently, very little empirical research has been undertaken to support its perceived efficacy. Three past and current projects funded by the NHMRC aim to establish music therapy as an evidenced-based practice that is highly effective in managing mood and neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia. The presentation describes the three studies and the theoretical basis from which they are build.
