Researchers at the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) are designing and evaluating a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to support carers of people living with dementia and continence care needs.

The project, Dignity in continence care in people with dementia and incontinence: Translating principles that protect dignity, is funded by the Dementia Centre for Research Collaboration through the Queensland University of Technology. The MOOC will promote continence care that makes people feel safe, respected and dignified, and will support carers.

To ensure the MOOC is fit-for-purpose, the researchers are seeking input from people living with dementia and continence care needs, as well as family carers and formal carers in residential aged care homes. Once the MOOC is designed, the research team will evaluate it  to determine its appropriateness and effectiveness.

The project is expected to be completed by June 2023. If you have any queries about the project, or would like to participate, please contact Dr Jessica Cecil – [email protected]
