The State Trustees Australia Foundation has awarded the National Ageing Research Institute a $250k grant to expand its work into age-friendly communities in metropolitan and regional Victoria.

The project, ENJOY MAP for HEALTH, aims to construct two Seniors Exercise Parks in the cities of Ballarat and Banyule, and to promote ageing well and social inclusion.

As part of the project, NARI will evaluate the parks’ impact on physical health, and develop an online platform and mobile application with tailored exercise instructions to engage older people and the wider community in physical activity.

The project involves partnering with City of Ballarat, Banyule City Council, Park and Leisure Australia, Lark Industries and Monash University.
