Strengthening Palliative Care Services for Older People

About the presentation

This presentation provides an overview of the End of Life Directions in Aged Care (ELDAC) project funded by the Australian Government, including the models and interventions currently being trialled to enable better integration palliative care as a core component of aged care services. The comprehensive data collection and monitoring framework used to monitor reach, uptake and impact of these activities will be outlined.

About the presenter

Distinguished Professor Patsy Yates AM is Executive Dean, Faculty of Health at Queensland University of Technology. She has researched and published extensively on health service and workforce reform and innovations in supportive care in cancer and palliative care and is currently an NHRMC Investigator Fellow studying palliative care services in aged care settings. Patsy is a Past President of Palliative Care Australia.
