NARI has received a major one-year grant from the Wicking Trust to grow the Melbourne Ageing Research Collaboration (MARC).
The $220,000 grant will help NARI, the lead partner, to assist the collaboration ‘rapidly mature’ and build its overall capacity in order to more quickly achieve its goals.
MARC, which has been operating for one year, is an innovative consortium of partners from research, university, health services, community, government, advocacy and industry sectors.
It is seeking to find practical solutions to issues of key concern to older people, including: Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, end of life and palliative care, falls, and healthy ageing.
Results from MARC projects will be used to achieve systemic change for older people living in community, hospital and residential settings.
