Victoria aged care provider Old Colonists’ Association of Victoria has opened an outdoor exercise park at its Leith Park retirement village. The park has been developed in partnership with the National Ageing Research Institute with funding from Perpetual’s 2018 IMPACT Philanthropy Program and Gandel Philanthropy.


Volunteers benefit from training sessions prior to getting to know residents, the early findings of a befriending study show. The National Ageing Research Institute is a quarter of the way into a four-year research project looking at the impact that volunteer-led befriending has on the mental health of aged care residents.


The PITCH project is developing and testing a training program to give home care workers the skills and confidence to deliver high-quality, person-centred services.
