Annual seminar: Elder Abuse

Elder Abuse: Innovation, research, policy and practice 

Friday 12th October, 2018: 9:00am – 3:30pm

The Hon Ken Wyatt, Minister for Aged Care, Minister for Indigenous Health, and Dr Kay Patterson, Age Discrimination Commissioner, will speak at NARI’s annual seminar which will focus on elder abuse.

As well as the work that NARI is championing on the issue, delegates will hear from the Aged Rights Advocacy Service in South Australia about how they are tackling elder abuse and intergenerational family violence with Aboriginal communities; a representative from Carers Vic will speak about resources for carers; and there will be a virtual interview with Dr Claudia Cooper, a pre-eminent elder abuse researcher from University College London.
