My research at NARI is focused on dementia in multicultural communities. I work on the Moving Pictures project which produces dementia awareness resources for multicultural communities. I have also been involved in NARI’s work with the NHMRC National Institute for Dementia Research (NNIDR), promoting the inclusion of culturally and linguistically diverse Australians in dementia research.

My academic background is in the anthropology and sociology of health, medicine and science and my PhD research involved an ethnographic study of neuroscience. I am interested in 1) the use of innovative and creative research methodologies in tackling difficult health challenges, and 2) the role for qualitative social research in clinical studies to improve inclusion of underrepresented populations.
