With your support and donations we will be able to continue with our important work

As you know, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been particularly felt by older people and their carers. The outcomes have been troubling and even traumatising for so many people.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic NARI assembled our key researchers to discuss the issues we could tackle together. We recognised older people can be particularly vulnerable at this time, due to isolation, inability to keep going with their usual activities, and experiences of fear and anxiety. We developed tools and resources to support older people as well as aged care workers and managers.

We also developed an age-positive language guide to help address the negative impacts of ageism on older people.

These are just a few of our many projects that are improving the lives of older people. Our 2021 highlights report provides a snapshot of many more of our programs and achievements.

NARI also tackles the topics many others ignore. I would like draw your attention to two of our projects which will great positive impact on the lives of older people:

The impact of prolonged grief in older people

Protecting older people's dignity in Residential Aged Care
