Social isolation measures has reduced the opportunities to engage in such activities, requiring older people to take more deliberate actions to maintain their a cognitively active lifestyle. While cognitive training is just one of many possible activities that can be undertaken at home, research in this area has equipped us with principles for ways to “exercise the brain”. Synthesising data from hundreds of clinical trials in older adults, this talk will propose practical solutions for rethinking the cognitively active lifestyle in the post-COVID era. About the presenter Amit Lampit is a CR Roper Senior Research Fellow and clinical neuroscientist specialising in developing cognitive interventions across the lifespan and brain disorders, clinical trials and research synthesis. He also holds dual appointments at the Department of Neurology, Charité University Hospital and the Berlin School of Mind and Brain, Humboldt University, Berlin.
